C8F – Slip 4 sts to cable needle and
hold to front of work, k4, k4 from cable
needle.
Rows 1 and 3 (RS): P2, k12, p2.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Knit the knit
sts and purl the purl sts as they face
you.
Row 5: P2, C8F, k4, p2. Row 7: P2,
k4, C8F, p2. Rows 9 and 11: Repeat
Row 1. Row 12: Repeat Row 2. Repeat
Rows 1 – 12 for Cable.

Begin Pattern
(RS) Work 15 (17, 19) sts in St st;
beginning Row 1, work Cable across
next 16 sts; work 36 (42, 48) sts in St
st; work Cable across next 16 sts; work
15 (17, 19) sts in St st.
Continuing in this way, repeating Rows
1 – 12 of Cable pattern, work even until
piece measures 6" from beginning, end
with a wrong-side row.
Decrease Row
(RS) Dec 12 st evenly across as
follows: Work 15 (17, 19) sts in St st;
p2, [k2tog] 6 times, p2 across Cable;
work 36 (42, 48) sts in St st; p2, [k2tog]
6 times, p2 across cable; work 15 (17,
19) sts in St st—86 (96, 106 sts remain.
Change to St st on all sts; work even
until piece measures 13 1/2" from
beginning, end with a wrong-side row.
Shape Armhole
(RS) Bind off 0 (0, 5) sts at beginning of
next 2 rows, 0 (4, 4) sts at beginning of
next 2 rows, 3 sts at beginning of next 2
rows, 2 sts at beginning of next 2
rows—76 (78, 78) sts remain.
(RS) Dec 1 st each side every other

(RS) Change to k2, p2 rib, end k2 (p2,

Work even until armhole measures 7
1/2 (8, 8 1/2)" from beginning of
shaping, end with a wrong-side row.
Place all sts on holder for neck and

SLEEVES:
Cast on 72 sts.
(RS) Begin k2, p2 rib; work even until
piece measures 6 1/2" from beginning,
decreasing 12 sts evenly across last
row—60 sts remain.
(RS) Change to St st; work even until
piece measures 16 (16 1/2, 17)" from
beginning, end with a wrong-side row.
(RS) Increase Row: K26, p2, [k1, M1]
6 times, p2, k26—66 sts.
Begin Pattern
(RS) K26; work Row 1 of Cable across
center 16 sts; k26 -- AT THE SAME
TIME,
Shape Sleeve
(RS) Continue in this manner, repeating
Rows 1 – 12 of Cable over center sts,
inc 1 st each side every 4 rows 0 (1, 2)
times—66 (68, 70) sts. Work even until
piece measures 17 (17 1/2, 18)" from
beginning, end with a wrong-side row.
Shape Cap
(RS) Bind off 3 sts at beginning of next
2 rows, 2 sts at beginning of next 8
rows—44 (46, 48) sts remain.
(RS) Dec 1 st each side every other
row 14 (15, 16) times—16 sts remain.
Place remaining sts on holder.
FINISHING:
Block pieces to measurements. Set in
Sleeves, leaving sts on holder free; sew
side and sleeve seams.
Neckband
With RS facing, using circular needle,
place sts from all holders on needle;
place a marker for beginning of round—
180 (184, 188) sts.
Round 1: *K2, k2tog; repeat from *
around—135 (138, 141) sts remain.
Begin St st; work even for 4 rows. Bind
off all sts loosely.
